On the pages of this book, the famous British psychologist of German origin, Hans Jurgen Aizenk (1916-1997), is carried out by the "General offensive" for the teachings of Sigmund Freud (1856-1939), to his school, as well as the treatment methods that this school protects and defends. According to the scientist, the methods of Freudian therapy contradict empirically proven facts.
Aizenk proves that Freud"s work and the results of his works are peculiarly associated with the circumstances of the life of the very founder of the theory of psychoanalysis. The author does not claim any scientific innovation (his thoughts are based on the works of his prominent colleagues), but in the end he manages to state the foundations of Freud’s teachings even to those readers who are very superficially familiar with the works of the famous Austrian psychologist. In other words, Aizenka manages to convey to the consciousness of the mass reader what the modern science of the truth and lies of Freudian teachings thinks. In this work, a very wide circle of topics will be affected - the interpretation of dreams, the psychopathology of everyday life, the Freudian psychogenesis, the experimental study of psychoanalytic theories and many others.
Many critics consider Aizenc"s arguments very controversial, but the author sought this. He represents opposite opinions on the basis of facts, and comments and interpretations are added only to clarify incomprehensible moments
