The records collected in this book are my work as a psychoanalyst since 1938, and their diversity is perhaps the main reason for this publication. But if there is one topic that personifies the integrity and growing nature of my studies today, then it consists of psychology to culture. Perhaps this is best noticeable in two works, “cultural unconscious” and “unity of the soul”, but in others this is implied. I owe Donald Sandner for this convenient term, which he introduced in the book “Healing Symbols of Navajo” - “Cultural Particular”. Just as individual people can be neurotic, and cultures can be in an unbalanced and unilateral state. People function normally when they combine the roles, both part of the family and part of the cultural tradition, as I suggest in the “unity of the soul”
