The book combines the results of studies of well-known scientists and the experience of practicing experts, giving the reader complete and systematic information about the theory of sensory integration, as well as diagnosis and therapy based on a sensory-integrative approach. This approach, developed by E. Gene Aires and developed thanks to its students and colleagues - the authors of this book - offers a system of analysis of the problems of a child, which gives a common language to a variety of specialists: neuropsychologists and correctional teachers, rehabilitation and neurologists, ergothels and kinesiotherapists. The value of this approach is the focus on the correction of the causes of the violation, and not on the smoothing of the symptoms that are due to this reason.
