The betrayal, the loss of their home, the news of mortal illness - all this fell on 50 -year -old spouses from Great Britain at once, completely suddenly. The confused, desperate, almost without money, they make the most crazy decision: go on a hike along the southwestern coastal path with a length of 630 miles, famous for its harsh beauty. In 2013, with difficulty throwing backpacks on their shoulders with the most necessary, they set off on a way along breathtaking landscapes, exposing all the difficulties of life in the wild and changing with every step.
The campaign described in the book took from the author and her husband for more than a hundred days, for which they overcame about 630 km and climbed a height four times superior to the rise to Everest.
After going along the path, Ranor Winn wrote an article about him in the British street newspaper The Big Issue, which caused a strong response. Then Rainor decided to write a book that she initially conceived as a love letter to her husband, as well as as a reminder of this journey - for the time when his memory would begin to deteriorate due to illness. After reading the manuscript, the daughter convinced Ranor to show the book to a literary agent, who then arranged a meeting with the Publishing house "Penguin".
By the time of the release of this publication, the Salt Path Book became a bestseller Sunday Times (2018), entered the Wainwright Prize and Costa Book Awards in the Biography category, and in 2019 I received the RSL Christopher Bland Preze. In September 2019, the book became the first bestseller in independent bookstores of Great Britain.
After the campaign on the southwestern coastal path, Reinor Winn began to regularly go on hiking and write about nature, wild tourism and problems of the homeless. Now she lives in Cornwall with her husband Mota and Monty"s dog
