The monograph presents an analysis of studies on the psychology of persons with hearing impairments in foreign science. A number of discussion issues are considered: the intellectual development of persons with hearing impairments, depending on a number of factors influencing it, features of personality development, emotional sphere and social adaptation, problems of mental health, the role of brutal speech in the mental development of the deaf. The state and prospects of organizing psychological assistance to people with impaired hearing, including problems of diagnosis and correction are analyzed. Many of the problems considered are not sufficiently presented in the works of domestic psychologists, therefore they can serve as a guide for determining the directions of future research.
