The work is devoted to the study of social conflicts: the trends of their research in psychology are considered, the psychological aspects of modern social conflicts that arose at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries are analyzed, and psychological mechanisms for regulating social conflicts are presented. As part of the psychology of the conflict, the following problems are considered: the justice, aggressiveness of the personality, the psychological security of society, dissatisfaction with the material conditions of life, corruption, terrorism, socio-psychological determinants of the confrontation of cultures and other manifestations of conflict of civilizations. We hope that the book will be useful to psychologists, sociologists, political scientists, students of psychological, sociological and political science faculties of universities, students of educational units of law enforcement agencies and operational employees
