For the first time in domestic psychology, the indicator of 1410 doctoral dissertations on psychology (1935-2019) is given. According to the authors of the book, about 9% of the dissertations presented here are not available in the catalogs of the Russian State Library. A quantitative analysis was carried out, the analysis of the problems and frequencies of the application of categories, concepts, terms in the topics of doctoral dissertations on psychology.
The publication has expressed a hypothesis that domestic psychology is in a hidden, prolonged, sufficiently deep methodological crisis, and also reflects the reasons for the lack of connection of the problems of psychological research and real practice of life. The book reveals the problem of the object and subject of psychology, the general scientific principles of psychological research, the assessment of the activity and behavior of a person, the team, stages, the program of psychological research. The problem of the evolution of the psyche, the conceptual system of describing the psychological phenomenon, indicators, criteria and indicators of psyche assessment are formulated, and recommendations are proposed to choose an object of psychological research.
