Paradoxes of the symptom. A systemic-analytic approach to working with psychosomatic symptoms

Diagnosis and therapy of psychosomatic problems involves an appeal to the idea of ​​mental and somatic unity. Another important attitude in the diagnosis of psychosomatic problems is the search for their causes, which involves a deep analysis of the structure of the client’s personality, his life experience and his life history.
The most fully these ideas reflects the author’s system -analytical approach in the diagnosis of a client based on the principles of systemicity, phenomenology and development. The main material for the use of this approach is the phenomenon of the symptom and the patient’s relationship to it.
