Gustav Lebon (1841 - 1931) - French psychologist, sociologist, anthropologist and historian. Lebon was one of the first to try to theoretically substantiate the onset of the “era of mass”: he believed that, due to the strong -willed underdevelopment and low intellectual level of large masses of people, unconscious instincts rule them, especially when a person finds himself in a crowd. Here there is a decrease in the level of intelligence, responsibility, independence, criticality falls, the personality disappears as such.
Sigmund Freud (1856 - 1939), the founder and the most famous representative of psychoanalysis, also began his scientific activity with the study of the psychology of the masses. He conducted a brilliant analysis of the main qualities of the mass, including the herd instinct, which takes possession of it at critical moments.
The book contains the main works of the city of Lebon and 3. Freud on this issue
