The monograph is devoted to the study of the genesis of art therapy. In the first part of the book, within the framework of the structural and anthropological approach developed by Vladimir Nikitin, the ontological, psychological and neuropsychological issues of the formation of an artistic image and its impact on consciousness are considered. The second part of the book presents the ectoplastic art therapy of Peter Zanev and his idea that art therapy is a strange and unexpected heir and successor of the art of psychological modernism in the second half of the 20th century. and the beginning of the XXI century
