Vladimir Mikhailovich Bekhterev (1857-1927) - outstanding neuropathologist, psychiatrist, psychologist, physiologist and morphologist. He graduated from the Medical and Surgical Academy in St. Petersburg, a participant in the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. He headed the first psychophysiological laboratory in Russia. At the Military Medical Academy, he organized one of the first neurosurgical departments in the world. In May 1918, he created and headed the institution of the brain.
V. M. Bekhterev dealt with the issues of hypnosis, suggestions and telepathy throughout his creative life. This collection included a number of his works devoted to methods of impact on personality and crowd, suggestibility in wakefulness and hypnotic state, sects and their techniques for processing people. Now these works seem even more relevant than at the time of writing
