The monograph presents the results of the theoretical and empirical study of the new phenomenon for social psychology - gender norms, which in the scientific literature is used to analyze the behavior of men and women. The results of the theoretical study made it possible to distinguish the methodological grounds for the study of gender norms, describe their functions, reveal the substantive characteristics and the specifics of the manifestation of gender norms. The connection of gender norms and models of masculinity and femininity is justified in the work, the content of the norms of male and female behavior of two main types: traditionalist and egalitarian. The text of the monograph provides a description of the methodological approaches and psychodiagnostic means of studying gender norms, as well as the results of the development and testing of two socio-psychological techniques for studying the norms of male and female behavior ("norms of male behavior" and "norms of female behavior"), which are designed for studying the personality of the traditionalist or egalitarian norms of male and female behavior. These questionnaires have no analogues among the methods of domestic authors. The content of the monograph can be of interest to specialists of the socio -humanitarian sphere of scientific knowledge that are interested in the problem of determining the social behavior of the individual. Socio-psychological methods of "norms of male behavior" and "norms of female behavior" can be in demand by researchers and practical psychologists involved in the study of gender problems
