"Friendship, Love, Sex: We’ll figure it out together" - this is one of the books developed by the laboratory for the struggle for independence. It summarizes the experience of teaching the independence of the Italian association of people with Down syndrome (AIPD) The book discusses the changes taking place with boys and girls during puberty, the issues of falling in love, love and friendly relations, and marriage are addressed.
The publication is intended for young people with mental disorders, as well as for all adolescents who have to increase their sexual education.
The book is written in an accessible language and is equipped with a guide for teachers and parents.
Authors:
Anna Contordi - a social worker and national coordinator AIPD (Italian Association of People with Dowun syndrome), has been operating in association since 1981, has been operating on counseling, training and planning. Since 1989, he has been conducting independence training for adolescents with Down syndrome. He is the author of several books about Down syndrome, about social and educational aspects. He leads the laboratory for the struggle for independence, for which she wrote many articles.
Monica Berarducci - a psychologist and psychotherapist, since 2002 has been conducting an independence training course in AIPD. Participated in international projects, is the coordinator of some projects. Currently, he collaborates in the development and conduct of events for youth and adults with Down syndrome, in particular in the field of teaching independence and integration into working life. The author of several books devoted to the development of independence in adolescents with mental disorders
