Sigmund Freud and Karl Jung are the founders of classical psychoanalysis and analytical psychology, the teachings of which forever changed the idea of the mechanism of the human psyche and had a huge impact on the science and culture of the 20th century. Karl Jung began as a follower of Freud"s theory, but over time he created his own concept explaining the motives of human actions using “archetypal images” and the concept of “collective unconscious”. Jung"s refusal to follow Freud’s teaching led to a break in relations between scientists and the emergence of two different methods of psychoanalysis.
