In this work, an attempt was made to reconstruct a cultural and historical understanding of jealousy. A systemic analysis of the phenomenon of jealousy is proposed, the social sources and prerequisites for jealousy as a form of moral evil in the history of mankind are shown. An understanding of the essence of jealousy from the clinical positions and the role of pathoplasty in its formation is presented. An assessment of the influence of jealousy on relations in society is given, internal inconsistency and a variety of forms of interpersonal relationships are revealed.
