How it all began
The story of the creation of the book "Chicken Bousse" inspires no less than the small stories of which it consists.
Jack Canfield and Mark Hansen, both popular motivational speakers, loved their performances to “season” a couple of inspirational stories. After the trainings, many turned to them: "And where can you find that story about a fautt girl? I would buy a book to her son "," And that story about a guy and a puppy - you can read it somewhere? ”
During the year, Canfield and Hansen recorded stories that they survived themselves or heard from friends, and when 101 were gained - sent out according to the publishers. They received 144 refusals.
Then Jack and Mark decided to find buyers before the publication of the book, hoping to convince publishers. They talked about her to their acquaintances and listeners of training, and everyone who was interested, asked to write a receipt of buying a future book. When there were more than 20,000 such receipts, Jack and Mark again turned to the publishers.
The book was printed, and everyone who made a promise bought it. And then ... sales got up. Jack and Mark did not want to give up. They had a goal - to sell 1.5 million in 1.5 years.
Then they came up with the "rule of five": daily take five active steps to promote and selling a book. From that moment on, Kanfield and Hansen every day sent 5 copies to journalists, Hollywood stars, made 5 calls to the leaders of companies with a proposal to give books to employees. As a result, 1.3 million copies were sold after 1.5 years.
The publisher asked to write a sequel.
Over time, the book, which was rejected by 144 publishers, became one of the most successful projects in the history of book publishing
