The book provides an analysis of the main factors of psychology of pharmacotherapy that impede successful treatment. The determining role of the cooperation (compliance) of the patient and the doctor and the cooping (coping) as decisive factors of success is presented. Special attention is paid to two main reasons for treatment: the patient"s attitude towards side effects experienced or expected (due to repellent information in "instructions for patients"), and the attitude to the expected therapeutic effect. The role of the family in providing compliance is emphasized. The participation of positive and negative placebo effects is allocated. The importance of superstitions, fabrications and delusions in the guise of the patient"s personality and his relationship to medication is noted.
The book is addressed to the doctors of all specialties and - through them - patients of all specialties, their close and distant relatives
