The book of the king and prophet David holds a special place in the Sacred Tradition of the Orthodox Church. Saint Basil the Great speaks of it, saying that the Psalms are greater and higher than all books because they glorify God together with the Angels and drive away and wound demons. It is no wonder that the Psalms have been used since ancient times for both church and home prayer, and now they form the basis of Orthodox worship. In the book "Psalms with Explanations," there is a verse-by-verse explanation of David's psalms, as well as rules for reading the Psalms for various occasions, discussions on the psalms by some holy fathers, and rules for determining the date of Easter celebration - Pascha. Recommended for publication by the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
