The journalist biography of the author of the novel 'Provocateur' B. Selenov - from a freelance correspondent for the radio station 'Yunost' to the head of children's and youth programs on the First Channel TV. In his creative baggage, there are not only dozens of radio and TV shows ('Good Night, Little Ones', 'Smart Boys and Girls', 'Up to 16 and Older', 'Marathon-15', 'While Everyone's Home', and many others), but also a considerable experience of communicating with children and teenagers. Much of this communication has led to an understanding that each of these generations (as well as the current one) was confident that it faced the biggest difficulties and problems, without realizing that these difficulties and problems have always existed in all spheres of society, under any regime. After all, time only changes the 'decorations': costumes, masks, manners, preferences, but the essence of human life remains unchanged. Throughout all times, a person sooner or later finds themselves facing a moral choice, upon which their entire life path sometimes depends. This choice is particularly difficult during 'great upheavals', such as revolution, war, or restructuring. The heroes of the novel 'Provocateur' - the detectives of the Tsar's security and the terrorist Social Revolutionaries - are engaged in a ruthless struggle with each other for the happy future of Russia on the eve of the first Russian revolution of 1905. But, in addition to bloody victories and no less bloody defeats, they, like all people, experience love, jealousy, friendship, betrayal, compromises with their own conscience - dozens of other motives that sometimes compel them to commit seemingly inexplicable actions.
