The latest methods of protection against flooding, artificial groundwater lowering techniques, construction methods of various types of anti-filtration curtains, and "ground walls" to create favorable conditions for mining and construction work and to protect built-up areas from flooding have been considered. A classification of protection methods is provided, and the application area of the methods in terms of effectiveness is determined. Information on the main types of equipment for carrying out the work is given.
