The collective monograph was prepared by the scientific staff of the Center for the Study of Strategic Issues of the SCO and the CIS of the Far East Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as specialists from other relevant organizations of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It is dedicated to the analysis of the prospects for the development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the study of the conditions for its cooperation with international structures in light of India and Pakistan becoming full-fledged members of the SCO. The scientific basis for this work was a round table held at the Center for the Study of Strategic Issues of the SCO and the CIS, during which the international legal aspects of the SCO's activities, trade and economic parameters of cooperation, as well as current security issues in Central Asia and the SCO space were discussed. The research presents new theoretical and practical approaches to the implementation of multilateral cooperation and the realization of the SCO's potential in ensuring collective security.
