The title of Elena Savitskaya's new book "From Soviet Art Rock to Russian Progressive Rock" speaks for itself. The work analyzes the stylistic principles of Soviet and Russian progressive rock, its forms and numerous variations in their historical development. The creative path and most significant works of such bands as MESS, RUJA, 2xVVm, AVTOGRAF, ARIEL, ARSENAL, VYSOKOSNOYE LETO, VICTORIA, VEZHLIVY OTKAZ, GORIZONT, GUNESH, DIALOG, DO MAJOR, PESNYARY, POP-MEKHANIKA, SONANS, FIRYUZA, and others, masterpieces of "composer rock", and the works of contemporary groups are considered.
The book continues the multi-volume series "Progressive Music", aimed at introducing readers to the leading bands of this genre, both in our country and abroad, as well as to lesser-known ones.
