The release of this binary book is completed by a memorial series of publications about the contribution to the domestic neurology of the head of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery with the clinic of the First St. Petersburg State Medical University. Acad. I. P. Pavlova, as well as other employees from the period of its discovery (1900) by Professor V. M. Bekhterev and to the present - under the leadership of Academician Ramna, Professor A. A. Skomer. In five books of this series, contain materials that are the foundation of clinical neurology.
One part of the new book is devoted to the contribution to the domestic neurology of a prominent doctor and the scientist of the twentieth century - Professor Arkady Ivanovich Schworev. This publication includes the abstracts of his candidate and doctoral dissertations, articles prepared during his work as head of the Department of Nervous Diseases and Medical Genetics of the 1st Leningrad Medical Institute. Acad. I. P. Pavlova, strokes to biography, including diary records of the period of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) Tragic events experienced by a graduate of the Naval Medical Academy during these years, observations and experience as a commander of Medical and Medsanbat determined the range of his professional interests and future scientific works. In neurology, the name of Professor Schworev is associated with its research on experimental hypoxia in the diagnosis of damage to the nervous system with the development of an original gas mixer, analysis of various clinical forms of diseases caused by the virus of lymphocytic choriomeningitis. The works of A. I. Shvareva, dedicated to the vascular diseases of the head and spinal cord, as well as inherited and non-decelerated (endocrine) myopathies are also known.
In the negotiable part of the book describes the historical milestones of the department, deposits into the domestic neurology of Professor Alexander Anisimovich Skomer and his staff, their creative biographies are about 70 essays about the modern pleiad of researchers of clinical aspects of neuroscience.
