The book by a well-known German psychologist, one of the founders of Gestalt psychology, is dedicated to the study of thinking processes in problematic situations that require creative solutions. The author presents his own concept of developing productive creative thinking through actively seeking ways to see the task as a whole. The book contains a wealth of material related to the history of remarkable scientific discoveries: Gauss, Galileo, Einstein, and unique conversations with the latter from a psychological perspective. Wertheimer was apparently the only psychologist who dared to have a conversation with the great scientist 'on his territory' about the problems of creativity in science and the mechanisms of creative thinking.
