The monograph presents a holistic semantic-pragmatic description of the category of species - philosophically and pragmatically most significant categories of Russian grammar, reflecting the most cardinal aspects of the device of the world and its reflection and interpretation in the mind of a person speaking and thinking in Russian. Particular attention is paid to identifying and describing invariant (prototypic) values of perfect and imperfect species and their motivational relations with private values of species. Completed in mutual communication and conditionality, all the main values and typed use of perfect and imperfect species constituting in the aggregate of the species system, the relationship and mutual conditionality of all major substantive aspects of species forms: actually semantics, pragmatics, functions in discourse, communicative function, relevant membership ( Communicative perspective) and references of species forms, including their verb groups and statements in general
