The monograph presents a holistic semantic-pragmatic description of the category of species - philosophically and pragmatically most significant categories of Russian grammar, reflecting the most cardinal aspects of the device of the world and its reflection and interpretation in the mind of a person speaking and thinking in Russian. Particular attention is paid to identifying and describing invariant (prototypic) values ​​of perfect and imperfect species and their motivational relations with private values ​​of species.
