Private selection of field crops

Griffe UMO. For VPO. The preparation of scientists of agronomists is impossible without deep knowledge of them of special disciplines, in particular, genetics, breeding and seed production. This is especially true for training specialists in the specialty "breeding and genetics of crops". Systematic training of specialists in this specialty lies in a consistent development by listeners of the fundamentals of genetics, general selection and seed-breeding of agricultural plants. However, their preparation would be not complete without special knowledge in the field of selection of individual crops, i.e. private selection. Naturally, selection work with individual cultures has its own characteristics associated with their biology. And knowledge of the peculiarities of genetics, breeding technology, donors and sources of selection and valuable properties and signs in individual crops are necessary.
