The world-renowned great Russian military leader, Generalissimo Alexander Vasilievich Suvorov, from childhood studied and knew well the Orthodox church service, read the Psalms and the Apostles in the temples. Moreover, he himself was the author of important church texts. A. V. Suvorov is known among Russian warriors of his time for his prayers, canon, as well as the 'Catechism', 'Notes on Christ's Commandments', and other spiritual instructions for soldiers and officers. From these unique Suvorov texts, as well as commonly accepted prayers important for servicemen in their daily work, before the start of battle, or when turning to heavenly protectors, this Prayer Book has been compiled.
