The collective monograph is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the influence of social disadvantaged on various aspects of the child"s development: cognitive indicators, language competence, school academic performance, as well as social status and success in adulthood. This publication is intended to introduce the reader with confirmed results and unresolved research issues in this area. A distinctive feature of the book is the integral consideration of the problem of child development from the point of view of a number of related disciplines: classical psychology, neuropsychology, sociology, social economy. The book describes in detail the methods of analysis and measuring instruments (tests, questionnaires and other quantitative assessment techniques), used in similar studies, as well as in detail the early intervention programs and their consequences.
