Florence can hardly be called just a city. This is a city of arts, a city-museum, one of the most famous and ancient cultural centers in Europe, often called the birthplace of Italian Renaissance or the "Athens of Italy". This is without any doubt one of the most famous cities in Italy, the embodiment of the Renaissance, the city of Michelangelo, Machiavelli and, of course, Medici, dukes, bankers, philanthropists. According to the Italians themselves, if the tourist visited Rome and Naples, but did not look Florence, then he did not really see Italy.
Today Florence is the capital of the Tuscan region. It is noteworthy that the historical center of the city has been preserved almost untouched since the revival (XV-XVI centuries), which is why it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Magnificent palaces, unique museums and monuments invariably cause delight among tourists of all ages
