The book of a prominent historian of the Russian foreign foreign countries of Dmitry Rasovsky included three interconnected works dedicated to the Turkic peoples, who wandered in the 9th - 13th centuries in the Black Sea steppes. The first to come here from the Volga region were the Pechenegs, then Torki, Berendei and several more tribes, about which, in addition to the names, little is known. Later, the Polovtsy appeared and ousted their Turkic relatives in Bulgaria and Hungary, and partly in the border regions of Russia, where the Russian princes accepted them for military service. Under the general name of black hoods, these Turks in the 12th century played a very important role in the life of Russian principalities and sometimes even decided who would rule in Kyiv. All this is described in the book of Dmitry Rasovsky.
