Women of the Russian village are traditionally considered victims of the patriarchal structure and at the same time glorified as a model of power, they are also called an invaluable source that nourished the great Russian culture. But how do they look at themselves? That their stories and songs report their values, desires and motives? The interlocutors of the authors of the study based on folklore expeditions in Russian villages were women belonging to different Soviet generations: born in 1899-1916 (before the October Revolution), in 1917-1929 (before the start of total collectivization of the village) and 1930-1950 -M (those whose youth fell on the post -war period, and the period of social activity on the last Soviet twentieth anniversary) Differences in the fate of women belonging to these three generations are significant, how different their personal experience and the life credo made from it are. Actualization of differences in the experience of generations was the main task of the monograph.
