In the book of the Doctor of Historical Sciences A. A. Ivanov (St. Petersburg State University), for the first time in domestic and foreign historiography, duel scandals are studied, whose participants were deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Empire of all four convocations. The author identified, studied and analyzed both conflicts that ended with the clarification of relations from the barrier, and those during which such an opportunity only arose. Particular attention in the study pays the reaction of society to duel scandals with the participation of Russian parliamentarians, as well as their direct participants, among whom were such prominent Duma deputies as A. I. Guchkov, A.F. Kerensky, N. E. Markov, P. N. Milyukov, V. D. Nabokov, V. M. Purishkevich, M.V. Rodzianko, F. I. Rodichev, V.V. Shulgin and others.
written in the form of historical essays, the book is addressed to historians, political scientists, as well as the widest circle of readers interested in the political history of Russia at the beginning of the 20th century
