The second volume is a corrected and supplemented publication of a book with the same name, published in the publishing house "Science" in 2003.
Based on the materials of long -term field research and analysis of the latest world literature, the author reviews the theory of ethnic groups dominant in domestic social studies and its political influences, offers a new interpretation of the phenomenon of ethnicity. The problems of the socio-cultural evolution of mankind, the perception of time and space, the nature of statehood and power, the anthropology of social changes in the context of Russian transformations, the problems of federalism and local administration in cultural and complicated societies, the nature of nationalism and conflicts, historical and cultural roots of violence and terrorism, are considered.
