The book is an analysis of the causes, consequences and ways of leaving the two largest economic shocks of the 20th century: the great depression of the 1930s in the USA and the Great Depression of the 1990s in post-Soviet Russia. The characteristic features of these events, the role of oligarchic structures and the state in them. The research and comparison of the economies of the two countries was carried out by the author for the period from the first contacts of Russians with American colonists to multilateral interstate relations between Russia and the United States today.
