The book of the Italian economist and sociologist Wilfredo Pareto (1848-1923) is his main economic work. The translation was made from the second French edition of 1909, revised by the author. The book is first published in Russian. Pareto does not “teach” the basics of political economic knowledge, but rather develops his own project of experimental economic science, acting as a successor to the traditions of the Lausanne school of marginalism. He seeks after L. Valras to consider how they arise, stabilize, and then change the state of economic balance. Moreover, Pareto uses not an abstract-mathematical form of presentation of the theory of equilibrium, but its visual-graphic display.
Along with the purely economic chapters on the theories of exchange, consumption, capital, money and securities, annuities, etc., the book is observed in the book that goes beyond the boundaries of economic sciences: according to the theories of the people of the elite.
