Origin of animals and humans

The reader is proposed to the book of the famous Soviet biologist and philosopher I.I. Agola (1891-1937), in which issues of the theory of evolution are outlined in a popular form. The reader will get acquainted in detail with evidence of evolution (including evidence of embryology and paleontology), learns about the role of heredity, variability, natural and artificial selection in the evolutionary process. The final chapters tell about the origin of man and his ancient ancestors.
The book, which first published more than 70 years ago, was written in an accessible language and contains a large number of illustrations. It will cause interest both among professional biologists, philosophers and historians of science, and in a wide range of readers
