This book is devoted to modern political protest in Russia, mainly two waves of this protest: 2011-2012. and 2017-2021, which became the most massive since the period of the 1990s, organizationally formalized against the current government, uniting representatives of various ideological and political views in their ranks. The monographs investigate existing sociological measurements and a comparative analysis of the composition of participants by age, gender, educational and property signs, by belonging to large social groups, political convictions and preferences, sympathies to political leaders and protest leaders is conducted. The sociological measurements of the socio-psychological state of Russians, which are alarming, the reasons for reaching protests, the problems of evaluating the possibility of protests and the desire to participate in them, and the social composition of protests participants were subjected to analysis. Particular attention is paid to the reasons for the occurrence of protest promotions, ideology and slogans of protest, opportunities for predicting a splash of social protest into open forms. The author sets two goals of the study.
The first is to give a sociological dimension of modern Russian political protest. The second is to give an impetus to the development of theoretical developments of social protest at the present stage of the development of society
