The strategy of the "Loop of Anaconda" was first formulated during the Civil War in the United States General Scott, commander of the Army of the Northerners. The essence of the strategy was to block enemy territories from the sea and along the coastal lines, cutting off from access to the ports and achieve, as a result, the enemy’s strategic exhaustion. Subsequently, the strategy of the "Loop of Anaconda" reached the geopolitical level - with its help the United States and Great Britain intended to weaken the Eurasian powers (including Russia), bringing coastal territories from under the control of these states and preventing integration within the boundaries of the continent.
One of the leading Western geopolitics, the Englishman Halford J. McKinder developed this strategy at first in practice, when being the supreme commissar in southern Russia during the intervention of 1918-1920 was carried out by the White Periphery against the Red Center, and then in their own in their own ways theoretical works. Further development, the strategy of the "Loop of Anaconda" received in the works of the famous American politician Zbignev Brzezinsky, whose works are also presented in this book
