The monograph is devoted to the study of the features of life support and the traditional nature management of the family Old Believers of the southern regions of the Republic of Buryatia and the Trans -Baikal Territory from the middle of the 18th century. until now. These territories belong to the water collection pool of Lake Baikal (River Selenga, Chika, Hilok) and are part of the buffer zone of the Baikal natural territory. Two types of nature management are considered that have been formed and developed for two and a half centuries among the family Old Believers in the conditions of forest -steppe and taiga landscapes - agricultural and agricultural -commercial. The place of auxiliary crafts based on the use of taiga resources is revealed in the life support of the family Old Believers.
