Over the course of a number of recent years in Russia, a reform of healthcare has been held, the basis of which is a new general law on health protection. Despite the improvement of public health and a decrease in mortality, Russia is still catastrophically behind the developed countries of the world. The reasons for this state of affairs, according to the author of the book, lie in the insufficient radicality of the measures taken and the lack of financial support for the reform. After analyzing the main indicators of healthcare, the author offers alternative ways to solve the demographic situation in the country.
