Damnitsyn Alexander Sergeevich (1841-1896)-musicologist, composer, professor of the St. Petersburg Conservatory. One of the first (along with single-minded friends A. N. Serov, N.V. Lysenko) researchers of Russian and Slavic folklore, life, the history of musical instruments.
