This book is the first monographic publication in Russia dedicated to the anthropological study of dreams. It raises the problems of understanding dreams in traditional and modern culture, literature, philosophy, psychoanalysis. The mythological ideas about sleep and dreams in the Slavic, Turkic, Caucasian, gypsy traditions, among American Indians and peoples of the Far North are considered. Descriptions of the dreams of heroes of artistic works are studied: from the ancient Greek tragedy and ending with novels popular today. The collection was prepared according to the results of the International Conference “Anthropology of Dreams”, held on August 29–31, 2020
