Journalist and human rights activist Eva Merkacheva visited all seven Russian colonies for life -convicted - where no one wants to be of his own free will. She interviewed the colonies and prisoners and told in her book honestly and without embellishment everything she managed to see and find out. The author described in detail the daily routine in the colonies, the life of prisoners, themselves and how the prison, awareness of the severity of the crimes committed and the fact that they cannot be released until the end of their lives change.
