The book by A.N.Medushevsky is devoted to the problem of the relationship between the legal tradition and policies of power in social transformation. From the standpoint of a cognitive theory, comparative legal entity and constitutional engineering, the author finds out the ratio of law and legal consciousness in transient societies, shows the formation of a liberal paradigm in the political philosophy of the new and modern time, represents the main provisions of the theory of constitutional cycles and discloses the logic of transient processes from authoritarianism to democracy. He analyzes the dynamics of the Russian political process in history and modernity, reveals the actual problems of the post-Soviet constitutional development.
