The book is devoted to the search for an answer to the most important question for our country: why in Russia, despite the costs and risks, it is still necessary to reform the state and the political system and what consequences this can lead to. The authors proceed from the fact that the preservation of the existing system does not leave Russia a chance to become more attractive both for potential allies in the global world and external and internal investors. The strengthening of the situation of Russia as a great power today requires successful economic transformations, and they are fundamentally impossible without political modernization of the state itself. By depositing reforms, preserving the existing model of the state, Russia, firstly, carries significant economic losses today, and secondly, seriously complicates its future, since the price of a reform project, that is, its costs and risks, will grow
