The collection is dedicated to Russian-Serbian political relations during the formation of Serbian statehood. Documents from the external policy of the Russian Empire of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, including the first time introduced into scientific circulation reports of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were involved.
Documents indicate a change in the foreign policy orientation of the Serbian leadership in the 30-50s of the XIX century, which is associated with the exacerbation of the domestic political struggle in Serbian society. The collection reflects a complex inter -party struggle, shares of opposition circles, the intervention of the European powers in the life of the Serbian state and the plans of the Russian government to attract the Serbian leadership to their side.
