The collective monograph is dedicated to the 220th anniversary of the birth of E.A. Boratynsky as one of the prominent representatives of Russian 'poetry of thought' and its recognized founder, but it is not limited to the study of his work or the Romantic era, revealing the dynamics of the development of this phenomenon in Russian culture up to the beginning of the 21st century. The monograph continues the exploration of a theme that was developed at the A.M. Gorky Institute of World Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences with the support of the Russian Science Foundation in 2017-2021 (RSF, projects No. 17-18-01432 and No. 17-18-01432-P). The authors set out to describe the main mechanisms of generating philosophically rich symbols and mythologems in poetry, to trace the process of interaction between literature and philosophy in Russian poetry over two centuries in order to identify the maximum number of specific examples and aspects of such interaction. The sections of the book are written by representatives of different scientific schools and generations from Russia, Germany, Serbia, the USA, and France. The publication is intended for philologists and philosophers, as well as a wide range of readers interested in the history of Russian literature and philosophy of the 19th-21st centuries. Compiled by E.A. Taho-Godi.
