The coexistence in Vilna (Vilnius) over the centuries of several cultures made this city a bright, peculiar phenomenon. This variety is rooted in the historical past, to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, whose capital was this city.
The book is devoted to the embodiment of the image of Vilna (in poetry first of all) of its three main cultural traditions: the Polish, Jewish, Lithuanian XIX-XX centuries. A significant part of the literary material is presented in Russian for the first time. A special spiritual aura of the city determined a new look at its complex and contradictory literary space
