The book analyzes the "Diaries" of the famous Orthodox liturgist and theologian of the Protopresbyter Alexander Shmeman in the context of the dialogue of the church and secular culture. The uniqueness of the personality of the father of Alexander, who developed at the intersection of different cultures and traditions, determined the originality of thoughts, style and forms of his "diaries", the publication of which became a phenomenon not only in the church, but also in the cultural life of Russia. The monograph considers the attitude of theshmaman to art, creative culture, "image" and "symbol", Russian literature, the connection of the liturgical theology of the Father Alexander with the experience of experiencing lyrical poetry is revealed, the internal dialogues arising between the author of the “diaries” and such Russian writers as Russian writers as they analyze.
