The monograph is dedicated to the history of the development of ancient elitological thought and reveals the essence of Plato's philosophy of chosenness, which stands at the origins of modern elitological science. He was one of the first ancient thinkers to provide a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon of chosenness, characterizing its ontological, cultural-historical, and socio-political essences. The ideas formulated by him and the problematic questions raised by him have not lost their relevance to this day. The monograph reconstructs Plato's views on the issue of good as a chosen value, provides an analysis of the influence of his elitological ideas on the subsequent development of scientific knowledge about the phenomenon of elite and elitism.
Intended for specialists and all those interested in the history of philosophy and elitology.
